5 Spring Essentials (& Linkup Announcement!)

Happy Monday! Currently about to grab coffee number two if that's any indication of how the next 48 hours will be (I forgot how scary three test in one day was - is it time to graduate yet?) Today on the blog I wanted to share my five "must haves" for the transitioning time of the year. I feel like it's just me, but Spring is alway such an interesting season in the Carolinas because the temperature literally fluctuates between 20 - 30 degrees in 24 hours so I'm constantly somewhere between a dress with sandals and my chunky winter sweaters. I've also got a very exciting announcement at the end of this post so definitely stay tuned!

Statement Jacket // For this one I'm always floating between my bright rain jackets, or my hot pink C. Wonder coat I picked up last winter. I am constantly getting cold (you should see how many blankets I like on my bed during the summer time I think it drives my boyfriend insane) but can't stand pulling out my heavy coats unless it's genuinely 20 degrees and snowing outside. Something light and something bright seems to always do the trick when the temperature drops dramatically.

White Sneakers // The idea of white sneakers is absolutely terrifying unless you've never had them, they surprisingly don't get as gross as you would think. Last year I picked up a pair of white Keds and wore them 24/7 - they're super versatile. I wore them A LOT while I was at Disney, so I think this year I might look into picking up a pair of Converses before the summer starts.

Neutral Dress // Neutral dresses are great year round, but I find myself wearing them really often during the spring/summer. This year I'm especially excited to break out this tan Piko type dress as well as a new jean dress I picked up last week, they're incredibly easy to dress up or down whether you're going for a walk in the park or out to drinks on the weekends.

Lightweight Sweater // On those fluctuating days another thing I really find myself reaching for is lightweight sweaters. I posted on a few last week (on super sale - you can see the post here) and one of the grey ones I picked up I've already worn twice in the week I've had it. It's incredibly soft and not so warm that I'm sweating like a dog once it hits 70 degrees. My trick would be to again, stock up on lighter colors and neutrals so you can match it back with about anything.

Bright Scarves // Last but not least bright scarves! I'm especially a huge fan of the Lilly Pulitzer scarves, I've got three now and I always get complimented when I wear them - they always seem to add such a pop to whatever look you're going for that day. The only thing about the Lilly options though is they definitely come at a high price tag, so I would look for them either on sale or second hand.

Today I am also super excited to announce that my friend Seersucker Sass and I are co-hosting the Second Annual Spring Fling Linkup set to go live March 20th - the first day of spring! The theme is all things spring, and you don't have to exclusively be a blogger to participate. You can join us by using the hashtag #springflinglinkup2016

Do you have any essentials I should add to my list? Are you going to participate in the linkup? Let me know!
Best,

  13. White sneakers are the best! I have a pair of slip on converse ones that I basically live in, and they really don't get as dirty as people think. Plus if I do manage to make them gross I just throw them in the washing machine (not exactly sure if I'm supposed to do that, but nothings gone wrong yet!)

  19. This is a great list! I adore colorful scarves, but in FL we get most of our use out of them in the winter
