In vs. Out // February

Happy Friday! I feel like it's just me but this week literally flew by after Tuesday (probably having something to do with the three test I had on Tuesday and the 14 hours of sleep I had that night). This weekend I will be somewhere between a quick trip home, wrapping up the month at work, and doing everything due before spring break. I just have to keep reminding myself in about a week I will be back at the happiest place on Earth (insert princess emoji here). Today I'm keeping things light and am super excited to be linking up with Allison from Because I Said So for her monthly In vs. Out Linkup. Without further ado lets jump in:

IN
Returning home (aka Cinderella's Castle obvs) super soon!
Swim suits for spring break (especially this one)
An upcoming trip to Michigan - if you're from the Lansing area please send recommendations for places to check out you would be literally the best
70 plus temps
Spring and summer sandals
Finally learned how to use Hootsuite and it's awesome

OUT
Drinking way too much coffee to make up for my lack of sleep
Spring semester - is it graduation yet?
The on again off again under 50 degree temps

5 Spring Essentials (& Linkup Announcement!)

Happy Monday! Currently about to grab coffee number two if that's any indication of how the next 48 hours will be (I forgot how scary three test in one day was - is it time to graduate yet?) Today on the blog I wanted to share my five "must haves" for the transitioning time of the year. I feel like it's just me, but Spring is alway such an interesting season in the Carolinas because the temperature literally fluctuates between 20 - 30 degrees in 24 hours so I'm constantly somewhere between a dress with sandals and my chunky winter sweaters. I've also got a very exciting announcement at the end of this post so definitely stay tuned!

Statement Jacket // For this one I'm always floating between my bright rain jackets, or my hot pink C. Wonder coat I picked up last winter. I am constantly getting cold (you should see how many blankets I like on my bed during the summer time I think it drives my boyfriend insane) but can't stand pulling out my heavy coats unless it's genuinely 20 degrees and snowing outside. Something light and something bright seems to always do the trick when the temperature drops dramatically.

White Sneakers // The idea of white sneakers is absolutely terrifying unless you've never had them, they surprisingly don't get as gross as you would think. Last year I picked up a pair of white Keds and wore them 24/7 - they're super versatile. I wore them A LOT while I was at Disney, so I think this year I might look into picking up a pair of Converses before the summer starts.

Neutral Dress // Neutral dresses are great year round, but I find myself wearing them really often during the spring/summer. This year I'm especially excited to break out this tan Piko type dress as well as a new jean dress I picked up last week, they're incredibly easy to dress up or down whether you're going for a walk in the park or out to drinks on the weekends.

Lightweight Sweater // On those fluctuating days another thing I really find myself reaching for is lightweight sweaters. I posted on a few last week (on super sale - you can see the post here) and one of the grey ones I picked up I've already worn twice in the week I've had it. It's incredibly soft and not so warm that I'm sweating like a dog once it hits 70 degrees. My trick would be to again, stock up on lighter colors and neutrals so you can match it back with about anything.

Bright Scarves // Last but not least bright scarves! I'm especially a huge fan of the Lilly Pulitzer scarves, I've got three now and I always get complimented when I wear them - they always seem to add such a pop to whatever look you're going for that day. The only thing about the Lilly options though is they definitely come at a high price tag, so I would look for them either on sale or second hand.

Today I am also super excited to announce that my friend Seersucker Sass and I are co-hosting the Second Annual Spring Fling Linkup set to go live March 20th - the first day of spring! The theme is all things spring, and you don't have to exclusively be a blogger to participate. You can join us by using the hashtag #springflinglinkup2016

Do you have any essentials I should add to my list? Are you going to participate in the linkup? Let me know!

Stocking up on (SALE) Sweaters

Happy Friday!! First off a big thank you to everyone who has already completed my reader survey, I've really enjoyed reading through all of the responses I've received and am excited to be making some big changes here on the blog. (Yes, that means posting more than once a week I promise!!) If you haven't already taken it and would like to do so you can take it here.

Today I wanted to share my last winter type post because I don't know about you, but I am seriously ready for spring summer. The best part of the changing of the seasons though is definitely the deals, and right now there are a ton of on serious SALE sweaters just about everywhere. I went to Nordstrom last weekend and picked up a few myself, and had my eye on the Bobeau cardigans especially - I can't decide which color to go with!

Which one is your favorite? I'm just about obsessed with the material on the Sun & Shadow one, it's quickly becoming a staple. Have a great weekend y'all!

Reader Survey

Happy hump dayy y'all! Lately I have been doing a lot of soul searching regarding my blog and I'm thinking it may just be time for some serious changes. Rather than focusing on exactly where I think Pick Your Beau has room for improvement, I want to hear from you, my readers exactly what you want to see more out of on Pick Your Beau. Today I am sharing a reader survey with y'all and it would mean the world to me if you wouldn't mind taking the thirty seconds to fill it out. It's completely anonymous so don't be afraid to be brutal, I am looking for any constructive criticism regarding what you want to see. You can get to it by clicking on the image above.

Thanks in advance for your help - have a great week y'all!

Happy Friday y'all! Boy am I glad this weekend is finally over, we actually have a chance of snow today and a chance of ice Monday and I am trying not to let that spoil a possible trip home for Valentine's weekend. Today I am featuring my last look in my 1 Dress 3 Ways // Valentine's day segment! This look I think is perfect for a fun night out on the town or going out for drinks. I find myself wearing this look all the time - I'm obsessed with these sassy booties and bright lip!

I'm also really excited to announce that I am actually giving away the Baublebar necklace I'm sporting in this look. 1 Dress 3 Ways // Outdoor Picnic

Sweater (similar) // Dress // Shoes // Bag (similar) // Watch (similar) // Bracelets

Happy Wednesday! Today is part two of my 1 dress 3 ways series and I think this might actually be my favorite look. For this look I just threw a slouchy sweater over the dress and paired it with some cute sneakers! Ideally I would love this look for any outdoor-type date (weather permitting of course) like a fun picnic or a stroll in the park.

I'm also super excited to be participating in the #galpallinkup today hosted by CristinaRachel, and Cathleen. The theme is all things Valentines (or should I say #Galentines) and let me just say I'm pretty much obsessed with all of the pink/red/white I've been seeing on my Instagram feed this past week.

Am I crazy or is the rest of the world sick too? I swear I have been sick for over two weeks now and it's finally starting to go away. Word to the wise, if you don't already own a humidifier invest in one ASAP! My boyfriend sent me one this past weekend and it's literally made the biggest difference. If it wasn't so huge on my nightstand I would definitely try to use it every night normally, I've even seen a big difference in my skin moisture wise.

How is this week going for you? Let me know!

1 Dress 3 Ways // Valentine's Dinner Date

Happy Wednesday y'all! This week I am kicking things off with a new series: 1 Dress 3 Ways - Valentine's edition! I will be styling this little LBD I recently picked up at Old Navy and this swing dress is super versatile so it should be super easy to re-create for any of your Valentine's (or #Galentines) plans coming up. Did I mention it's also on sale now for $12? Score!

This week is all about the big fancy dinner date. You know, white table cloths and champagne? I choose to keep this look all black, dressing it up with some fun statement earrings (the tassel is to die for) and a chunky heel. (I also had the hardest time deciding between the earrings and this necklace from Baublebar!)

So what did you think? Enjoying the series so far? Make sure to keep up - my last look will also be including a #galentines GIVEAWAY!

How is your hump day going? Let me know!
