In vs. Out Linkup

Happy Friday! Today I'm excited to be participating in a linkup hosted by Allison of Because I Say So. I've been following her blog for a while now and love her weekly series so I was beyond excited to hear she was hosting it as a linkup

IN
Barbie's You Can Do Anything campaign // Seriously amazing. I grew up playing with Barbies and have always been a big fan of the company so when I saw this campaign I was beyond excited. It's great!

Sparkling Ice black raspberry drinks // My mom got me hooked on these about a year ago and I love, love, love them. I don't really drink soda so they're perfect when I want something different.

The Office // If you follow me on snapchat you know I've been watching it all day every day. Still don't know why it took me so long to get into it.

Stepping up my blogging game // I'm talking DSLR's

Mindy Kaling // Talk about a girl crush. I recently read her first book, loved it so much I started watching The Office, decided Kelly Kapoor is my spirit animal (also check out this article), and now want her new book.

Target + cocktails while you shop // please tell me this is real.

PSL's and Hot Apple Spice drinks from Starbucks

Justin Bieber's "Sorry" and Adele's "Hello"

OUT
Next week at work is the in between for Halloween and Christmas and I'm so ready for Christmas already.

Going to bed around 3 and waking up before 8 every day this week.

Twisting my ankle last week and realizing how long it takes to get back to normal.

Having the hardest time keeping my room clean lately.

Knowing I have two months left here at Disney before I go back to school.

La Croix flavored sparkling waters // every flavor I've tried I absolutely hate

Trying to play the Kim Kardashian game on my phone and it not loading for the past few days. Totally embarrassed to admit I play it but it's SO addicting!

Not having polish on my nails basically all week

What's been in/out with you lately? Are you participating in this month's linkup? Let me know!

New England Chic // Guest Post

Happy Monday y'all! Today on the blog I am so excited to be sharing a guest post by my friend Mikayla talking all about New England Style. Mikayla runs a fabulous blog called The Taste Tracker which is all things style/travel/food and will leave you with a serious case of wanderlust.

Today we are getting together to share both our regional and personal styles - so without further ado lets jump right in.

How would you describe your personal style?
I would describe my style as classic with rustic/bohemian touches; I never like to look too put together. One of my favorite outfits to wear is a plain white tank top tucked into my black skinny jeans from Urban Outfitters. But my look never ends there; I’ll through on a skinny belt with metal details, a thick, embroidered scarf and some delicate gold chains. I love embellishing classic silhouettes with different kinds of jewelry, scarves and shoes.

How would you describe the style of New England?
There are a couple different kinds of styles that float around New England. In boating/yacht capitals like Newport, Rhode Island, brands like Lily Pulitzer, Jack Rogers and Vera Bradley are on every corner. Needless to say, people in these towns are incredibly preppy. However, New England has a lot of rustic parts to it where people are much more laid back in the ways they dress. Brands like L.L. Bean are super popular in these areas, as are styles similar to those from Patagonia.

How does your style compare to your regional style?
I would say my style differs greatly from my regional style. My particular area—a small town in Rhode Island—tended to air more on the preppier side of fashion, favoring Tory Burch, Sperrys and Ralph Lauren Polo. There wasn’t much branching out from fashion conventions and popular clothing stores like Brandy Melville or Forever 21. I like to think I try out trends that are a little more similar to what you’d see on the streets on New York City or London, because that’s where I belong.

What is your favorite piece in your wardrobe?
My favorite piece in my wardrobe would have to be my long, camel-colored overcoat from Forever 21. It’s so versatile and makes any and every outfit look so chic

What brands do you find build the New England style?
As I stated earlier, there are some staple brands up here in New England that truly build its style. In more preppier regions like eastern Massachusetts and southern Rhode Island, the staple brands are Sperrys, Vineyard Vines, Tory Burch (because looking like you’re from the West Coast is always cool), Alex and Ani and Lily Pulitzer. More rural regions like Maine, Vermont and New Hampshire all tend to favor L.L. Bean and your traditional flannels, beanies and winter boots.

Has your style changed through your recent move?
I style has definitely evolved throughout my traveling. I moved down to the DC area for college and my style morphed into a little more “hipster” than it previously was—I was, and still am, a big fan of halter crop tops with high-waisted jeans and a denim jacket. Urban Outfitters became my second home. Now, I still maintain those “hipster” elements through staple pieces like denim jackets and circle lens, but I like to add classic pieces—like a tailored coat or polished booties— to every outfit that I wear.

Where do you find your biggest style inspiration?
My style inspiration comes from SO many places. I am an avid fashion magazine reader, so I tend to pull a lot of inspiration from those pages. Tumblr is also a great place for fashion inspo; I’ll just search for a particularly fashionable person and a ton of street style photos will usually pop up. Right now, I’m super into Kendall Jenner’s style.

What do you love most about your look?
A lot of friends have called my look “cool,” which is a really big compliment. I never like to look too overdone and try to just go with my instincts on what pieces look good together and what colors look nice combined. I like to think my overall look is very sophisticated—that’s definitely a characteristic I strive for on a daily basis!

Don't forget to head over to Mikayla's blog to see more of her style and my southern inspired look. You can also check her out on Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest.

Seriously though don't blame me if you get the travel bug, you definitely will. Have a great week y'all!

Think Pink // BAC Shopping Guide

Happy Monday! October has always been one of my favorite months not only for the changing of the leaves but all of the pink I see supporting breast cancer awareness. It is a cause very near and dear to my heart so do not be surprised if you see me sporting pink every day this month. (The bralette especially I think is going to be a must have for me).

Any BAC products I should look into? Let me know!

Best,
