Weekly Wrap Up

Happy Friday! This week it would be fun to cap it off with a quick weekly wrap out. First off, I have big news! I will be doing a little bit of traveling in next week and heading home to North Carolina for a few days to visit family. Over the past few weeks I've felt so homesick and am super excited to see everyone (and of course you can follow along on my Snapchat @pickyourbeau)

Obsessed with Julep's DeAnn on my nails - I'm only allowed to do pinks and reds on my nails at work so it's quickly become my favorite fall color. Speaking of fall it's starting to feel like it in the evenings here and I love it! I wore jeans for the first time in a good while the other day and was completely comfortable (it also helps when they feel like pjs).

Have y'all heard of Ditto yet? If you haven't I would strongly recommend checking it out, it's essentially Netflix for sunglasses. I currently have a pair of RayBans checked out but can't wait to get the infamous Prada ones next #swoon

I've been watching American Horror Story nonstop lately and am SO excited for the new season to come out next month! Anyone out there with me? The theme this season is Hotel, and I've been hearing a lot about how it's based off of the Hollywood Tower Hotel aka Tower of Terror here at Disney. Really - obsessed already.

Recently I've found my true career calling - If you haven't checked out Whine About It you need to do so ASAP. Essentially it's this guy named Matt Bellassai who works for BuzzFeed (one of my favorites) and he gets drunk at his desk and whines about life. He tells it so well and seriously what a dream job?!

I finally got a blanket scarf the other day and seriously can't wait to wear it. I wasn't super into them last year but now I'm definitely wanting to add to my collection. It is still however 90 plus degrees in Florida so for right now I'm only day dreaming about my picks.
This past week Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween party kicked off and I'm now counting down the days. I've been watching scary movies left and right, eating lots of Halloween candy, and already planning out my costume for the party.

Have you given any thought to your Halloween costume yet? Let me know!

Everyday Makeup Routine

Happy Monday friends! Today I thought it would be a perfect day to share my long awaited daily makeup routine. I love post like these because I'm actually super nosy and find it so fun to peek inside other people's "must haves". Hopefully through my favorites you might even find a favorite of your own!

First thing my makeup bag is from Victoria's Secret - I love this little pink poof. It's very travel friendly and holds a lot more than it looks. It comes in a few colors and is on sale right now too!

I've been using Covergirl's Outlast Stay Fabulous 3 in 1 Foundation in the shade 840 for years now - it's my abso favorite as a foundation. It does a great job helping to conceal my oily skin and any old acne scars. It also has SPF 20 which I love, skin care at any age is absolutely necessary!

Next I've been using Tarte's Amazonian Clay Waterproof Bronzer in Park Ave Princess to help contour my face and Maybelline New York Dream Matte Power in the shade medium to lock it all in. The bronzer especially I can't say enough good things, I received it in my July Ipsy box and have sworn by it since. I'll definitely be purchasing the full size once mine runs out.

Another must have of mine has been Urban Decay's Eyeshadow Primer Potion - the only thing I have to say about this is buy the sample size. Years ago I bought the full size and two years later (after it expired) I had only gone through maybe half the product. Ever since I've bought the sample size (at all of $12) and it makes the biggest difference in my eye makeup routine.

If you've been following along for a while now you'll know that I'm a huge fan of the Julep Maven program (leave your email below to get your first box FREE) and lately that's about all I've been using on my eyes. I can't seem to justify splurging on the Naked pallets - but their Long Weekend Eyeshadow Pallet I swear is even better at a fraction of the cost (especially if you include it in your monthly box).

Eyeliner wise I always go for a black liquid liner and I've been between Julep's Fluid Eye Glider for when I want a very precise line and Starlooks Pro Luxe Longwear Eyeliner Pen when I want a thicker  line. For mascara lately I've been using Clinique's High Impact Mascara in 01 Black. I'm definitely looking to try out a new one though so if you have any recommendations please let me know!

And that's about it - if you have any recommendations for products I should try out please let me know in the comments below. Have a great week everyone!

#Flawless Legs with Sally Hansen

Happy Hump Day! I hope you all enjoyed your long weekend this past week. I unfortunately worked all weekend long but today is my Friday so I am definitely celebrating. Recently I was reached out to by Sally Hansen through Influenster to try out their Airbrush Legs Leg Makeup - I had actually heard great things about the product and love the brand so I was super excited to try it out for myself.

In exchange for my review I was sent a sample bottle of the lotion form but you can also pick it up in a spray on form. The idea behind it is it's a form of "leg makeup" used to smooth and even out your skin to give it an air brushed look without rubbing off on your clothes. Something I have to say is I love that the formula is water resistant - I received it in the shade "medium" and while you can't tell well in the photos before and after it works wonders as a self tanner.

My favorite thing about the product was that it really did seem to even out my skin - I made a joke the other day about how working outside makes me look like I have chicken pox because my legs are constantly covered in bug bites! In the photos above I feel like they are hardly noticeable (talk about #flawless)

Before (to the left) and after (to the right).

I received the lotion form and it was super easy to apply - blend in like any normal lotion and use lightly around your knees and ankles.

The biggest thing I didn't like about the product was that (like most self tanners) it left an orange residue on my hands - which easily washed off.  All in all I really loved the product and definitely plan on picking up the full size sometime soon - I think it would be a great to give your legs that airbrushed look during the warmer months.

If you're interested in learning more about their product you can check out their page here and find them using the hashtag #AirbrushPerfectLegs #contest

Have you ever tried Sally Hansen's Airbrush Legs? What's your secret to getting #flawless legs? Let me know!

Advice c/o Carrie Bradshaw

Happy Monday friends! If you've been following along you probably already know that last Monday was my birthday, and this year one of my BFF's gifted me one of the full seasons of Sex and the City. Now this friend and I have literally been friends since we were like 12 (true story we used to actually hate each other) and growing up we always bonded over watching Sex and the City in high school because you know it's a great show and all.

Through all four years of high school I can tell you that SATC came on every weekday on E! at 4 and played until 6 (if you can't tell I love this show) and when I got home from school that was my routine for a good long while. Now I haven't watched it nearly as much in the past few years, just whenever I can really catch it on but looking back on this got me thinking - I learned a lot of life lessons through Carrie Bradshaw. Seriously, she made a lot of bad decisions but she gives the best advice out there and what blows my mind is that the show is now seventeen years old and those messages still ring so true.

That being said (and in honor of #mondaymotivation) today on the blog I wanted to share a few of my favorite words of advice from the infamous Carrie Bradshaw.

"I'm not afraid of heights have you seen my shoes?"

"Maybe you have to let go of who you were to become who you will be"

"Sometimes the wrong choices bring us to the right places"

"The most exciting, challenging and significant relationship of all is the one you have with yourself"

"I like my money right where I can see it - hanging in my closet"

"Maybe our mistakes are what make our fate"

"The universe may not always play fair - but at least it's got a hell of a sense of humor"

"They say nothing last forever. Dreams change, trends come and go, but friendships never go out of style"

"Maybe the past is like an anchor holding us back"

"Maybe our girlfriends are our solvates and guys are just people to have fun with"

"I don't have time for regrets, just fun"

"I'm looking for love. Real love. Ridiculous, inconvenient, consuming, can't live without each other love"

Are you as obsessed with SATC as I am? Let me know!

Weekly Wrap Up // Life Update

Happy Friday! So sorry for the hiatus the past week or so, I've been celebrating my 21st between my mom who came down to visit and of course the big day - including drinking around the world! (If you'd like to hear more about that process let me know in the comments below)

Overall August has been a great month for me, but now that my birthday has passed I'm officially in fall mode. Pumpkin spice lattes officially return September 8th but my local Starbucks had the mix yesterday and I got my first one of the season. Disney World has also started putting up the Halloween decorations at Magic Kingdom so all I'm seeing is orange and I love it. Also picked up a blanket scarf and a new pair of booties yesterday and I'm super excited for fall fashion this year.

My boyfriend was super sweet and picked up these gorgeous pieces from Kendra Scott. Ever since then all I've been seeing is marble and I'm SO tempted to pick up this cover for my MacBook.
It's been raining non stop at work lately (thank you Florida) and working outside is no bueno when you're soaking wet. I recently picked up this rain jacket at North Face (and on sale!) and it's been an absolute life saver. I've been looking at it for a while now and so happy I finally bit the bullet - it's definitely a new favorite.

I'm slowly but surely getting into the tie up gladiator trend and I really want these shoes but it's also almost fall so I'm trying my hardest to restrain myself. Just a quick show of hands is anyone else really into this trend? It reminds me of middle school for some reason but I absolutely love it. You can also see some of my favorites from this trend below:
I've been wearing OPI's Mimosa's for Mr. and Mrs. on my nails nonstop and I'm convinced it's the perfect neutral.

I've been writing lots of thank you cards from my birthday this past week and I forgot just how much I love stationary. Currently I'm using a gorgeous Kate Spade set I received from my friend Hill over at Salsa but I'm also seriously considering ordering all of these for when I run out.
What's been on your radar lately? Let me know! Happy Friday!
