Easy No-Heat Summer Hair Tutorials

Happy hump day (and coincidentally my Friday)! Working down here in Orlando has been so different than any other job I've done, mainly because I've had to adjust to the huge influx of guest and working outside... in Florida. Now while I haven't gotten as much sun as you would think (since I mainly work nights), one of the biggest adjustments I've had to make is what I do with my hair everyday. During the summer time I try to use as little heat as possible on my hair while still trying to keep everything out of my face.  If you're anything like me you can get lost in YouTube videos, and lately I've been swearing by these tutorials -

I'm also huge fans of all of these beauty gurus, so definitely take a look at their channels - they are some of my favorites.
Which one will you be trying out? Let me know!

Navy & White Stripes

Happy Friday! I swear the weeks keep flying by lately. Around fourth of July Loft had (and has continued to have) a huge sale that was 60% off all clearance items. I picked up way too much because the deals were way too good, including this dress for only $8! Unfortunately, it's no longer available but I've linked a similar one at a great price.

Dress (similar) // Shoes (similar) // Handbag // Ring // Bracelets (1, 2, 3)

What are you doing this weekend? Let me know!

Lilly Pulitzer New Arrivals

If you're anything like me you look forward to the daily Lilly Pulitzer emails - especially when they include new arrivals! With my birthday right around the corner (aka a little over a month away) I might just be treating myself to one soon

Are you as obsessed with the new arrivals as I am? Let me know!

Step Into My Week (7/13 - 7/19)

I'm starting to think I'll never be used to these night shifts. Seriously, I finally get on a halfway normal schedule during my "weekends" aka Thursday and Friday and then Saturday comes and I don't get off until 4AM. That being said, is it nap time yet?

Monday through Wednesday // Besides work it's been a super productive week for me. I've crossed off most of my to-do list, got back on my ideal blog schedule, and picked out my BFF's birthday present (as well as a few other things - thank you #nsale!).

Thursday // After being here over a month I finally made my way to Epcot. I got super lucky that my BFF and I finally had a day off together, so we made fast pass reservations and spent our day over there. My boyfriend always talked about Mission: SPACE so that was the first one we did, followed by Soarin' and Spaceship Earth. We also made our way briefly through the world showcase, having sushi in Japan, meeting Mulan in China, and finding the moonshine in America (yes I'm totally serious!).

Thursday night we also watched Mary Poppins for the first time, it was seriously SO precious and now I can't wait to watch Saving Mr. Banks!

Friday // Friday was an interesting day for me. I had an appointment to get my A/C fixed so with one of my roommates we dropped off my car and drove her over to the the doctors. We basically sat around for four hours for no reason, came back for my car and found out it would be $200 dollars later, then after trying to go to Target for dry shampoo I got caught in a rainstorm and couldn't get home for two hours thanks to traffic and my GPS taking me in loops. Needless to say after that day I stayed home and spent my Friday night cleaning and watching movies.

Saturday // Saturday was spent planning out blog post and just getting ready for my week ahead. Oh and you know 4AM waffle house with my co-workers!

How was your week? Let me know!

Weekly Wrap Up

Happy, happy Friday y'all! I've had yesterday as well as today off, so if you're looking for me you can probably find me out and about running errands just about all day. On the bright side I'm finally getting my air conditioning fixed in my car, it's been way too hot not to have A/C down here in Orlando! Without further ado, I wanted to share just what's been on my radar:

Snapchat // I've seriously been all over some snapchat this past week. If you're not already following me you totally should (@pickyourbeau) you'll get to see all the behind-the-scenes. Aka night shift after night shift and coffee after coffee.

ALEXandMICHAEL's vlog channel // As if I wasn't already absolutely obsessed Alex Garza, between her and her new hubby Michael they are just the cutest thing! They got married two weekends ago I believe, and recently just adopted a new little puppy named Colbie - he's precious!

Mary Poppins // I watched this for the first time last night (shocker right) and I'm kind of obsessed already. I see her all the time out and about on Main Street, but I never knew the full back story. Now I really, really want to watch Saving Mr. Banks - of course anything with Walt featured I'm sure I will absolutely adore.

These Ray Bans // I already have them in the blue mirrored color, but desperately want the black/gold version! They are seriously the most flattering sunglasses I've ever owned and I would love a more neutral option. SO wish these went in the #NSale!

15 Things That People Think Pluto Looks Like // A new photo of Pluto (the planet not the dog) recently came out and the responses were hilarious.

Sales & Steals
Nordstrom // Anniversary sale opens to the public this morning!
J Crew // Extra 30% with code GOSHOPPING
Lululemon // Big, big warehouse sale

Anything big catch your eye this week? Let me know!

Summer Lovin' ipsy Glam Box

If you follow me on Twitter (shameless plug here), you may have seen a while back I posted about how I finally joined ipsy and how excited I was to receive my first glam box. If you follow me on Snapchat (@pickyourbeau) you may have seen that it finally came yesterday as well as some of it's contents. Today I thought it would be fun to share with you all just what I received and an overall opinion of my first month with ipsy:

For starters everything came in this cute little chevron bag. I have to say I usually hoard bags like this (so handy for literally everything), so I love that a new style is provided each month!

BellaPierre Cosmetics Mineral Lipstick in P.I.N.K // This was the first thing I tried out and it's absolutely gorgeous with my skin tone, I always love playing with new lip colors so I'm super excited to try this one out.

'Tini Beauty Eyetini Swizzle Stick in Blue Hawaiian // Back in high school I had a friend who loved to wear bright blue eyeliner and the second I swatted this it instantly made me think of her. Though I will probably never use this considering it's an electric blue color, I was pretty impressed with how smoothly it applied. If bright eyeliners are your thing though you'd probably love this.

Tarte Amazonian Clay Waterproof Bronzer in Park Avenue Princess // Believe it or not I've never tried any tarte products, but I've heard phenomenal things about their Amazonian Clay so I am beyond excited to try this! Plus you know, waterproof anything is basically a must during the summertime.

Jersey Shore Cosmetics Mongongo Vanilla Coconut Cream Anti-aging Lip Conditioner // Talk about a mouth full. Basically a vanilla/coconut lip balm - I'm not normally a coconut person but it smells and taste pretty good.

Jor'el Parker Classico EDP // Smells pretty good and I love the little pocket sized roller ball design, I think this would be perfect to throw into a bag on a long busy day for touch ups.

All in all, definitely worth the $10 I spent. Oh and shipping is completely free - always a plus!

Have you tried ipsy or BirchBox? Let me know your thoughts!

Agendas That Make You Want to Work (& Tips for Staying Motivated!)

It's that time of year again - we're halfway through summer which means halfway to back to school season. Though I will still be mid-internship when back to school starts, I will still be enjoying my favorite perk of the season - new planners!

I'm the kind of person who if my planner isn't set, my life feels like one big mess. That being said of course, if you are any type A organization freak like me just any planner doesn't always do. I always need tons of room to write, love bright and bold colors, as well as nice, hard binding. So today I've put together a few of my favorites for you to shop
Now the biggest sin of buying a $50 agenda each year is NOT using it! That being said here are a few of my big tips for staying motivated (no matter what you're trying to accomplish)

(1) Write down your goals // I always define my goals in the form of SMART goals - specific, measurable, attainable, relative, time sensitive. Lets say I want to lose five pounds, I would then write "lose five pounds by July 31st by getting active and eating healthy". Physically writing it out in a place I will see it each day makes me feel more accountable, pushing me to further reach my goal.

(2) Live by a planner // Whether that be digital or physical having each day planned out and seeing that schedule each day holds you to a routine. This tip especially comes in handy when you schedule things months ahead of time. Anyone ever miss a dentist appointment because you simply forgot and never wrote it down? I've definitely be guilty of this one.

(3) Give yourself deadlines // This one doesn't apply so much to school for me as it does to my blog. If I see that I have a blog post scheduled for Monday which I want written by Sunday night, I'm much more likely to sit down a few days before and push that post out.

Do you have an agenda or any productivity tips that you swear by? Also, would you be interested in a post showing how I've been organize my agenda lately? Let me know - happy Monday!

Bloggers Get Cookin' Linkup // Chocolate & Fruit Breakfast Quesadilla

I am SO excited to be participating in today's Bloggers Get Cookin' Linkup hosted by Cathleen of Classy Cathleen and Katie of Chic in Carolina! Linkups are always one of my favorite things to do as a blogger and I've been dying to change it up and feature a quick recipe on the blog. And you know, I'm down with anything to do with chocolate.

Today I'm sharing one of my favorite breakfast recipes that takes all of about ten minutes and I swear taste like dessert. So here's what you'll need
1 Tortilla
1/2 Banana
1 Handful of Strawberries
2 tbsp of Nutella (to taste)

First you will need to wash / cut your fruit

Heat a large skillet over medium heat, spray either Pam or a dab of butter on before setting your tortilla down.

Heat your tortilla for about a minute, until golden on one side. Pull off and spread your Nutella evenly across your tortilla. I'm actually using a "healthier" version of Nutella, but I've used both in this recipe and both turned out well. If you're interested in what I'm using it's called Dark Chocolate Dreams by Peanut Butter & Co and it's delicious - I'm in love with all of their butters!

Next, spread your fruit out evenly to one side of your Quesadilla.

Finally, flip over and heat until golden.

Cut into and enjoy! Not going to lie, I've definitely made this for snacks when I just want something sweet. Are you participating in today's linkup? If you try this please let me know!
