Seeing Spots

I came across this wild number from Zara a few months back and am just in love with its shape. Its a classic shift but it's got a fun little structured swing to it. Today was my official last day of classes and my first final is on Friday, so I'm definitely looking forward to the quiet study time / binge watching Heart of Dixie (thank you Annaliese for the recommendation! I'm OBSESSED)

Fearless Friday // My Big Announcement!

Yes fearless, because this is really happening.

As many of y'all guessed - YES! I will be moving to Florida in June to participate in the Disney College Program. I'll be there for the Fall Advantage program which runs from June to January and I could not be more excited for this new chapter of my life. I am very lucky that my best friend is actually coming with me and we'll be living together down in Orlando (The downside? Apparently there is no Cookout). I would also like to say thank you to every reader who supports my blog, this opportunity is literally a dream come true for me and I can't wait to share my experience with you all!

PS how precious are these ears from Sail Bows? I'm obsessed!!
Thank you again to everyone for the well wishes!

Statement Watches

So if you follow me on Instagram (shameless plug here) you may have seen the newest addition to my watch collection. Funny story, I actually had my eye on this exact watch at the Fossil store last time I was in Orlando and was SO excited to find it at a fourth the price at TJMaxx! Ever since I have really been into bright, big statement watches. The pink face on this one I think is so different but I still find it matching most of my closet.

I've also put together a few of my favorites for you to shop down below.
Do you have a favorite watch you live by? Let me know!

Big Decisions

Today on the blog I wanted to talk about life. I hope you'll all excuse the few post last week (I like to keep it MWF); I found out some huge news last Saturday and it's been weighing on me all week. Really, really, exciting news. It's a once in a lifetime opportunity and I couldn't be more excited/scared/nervous/impatient/thrilled at the same time.

I think these types of post are so important sometimes because it lets you get to know me just a little better. As with anyone, there is always so much more going on than you could tell from behind any camera lens.

So this is how it happened:

About a month ago I went through a week long interview process for a competitive internship program.

I told my mom how excited I was about the opportunity to interview with them. I mean, who gets a call back and the opportunity to actually interview with this magical company? I told my boyfriend how even though I would probably never get this position, how amazing would it be if I did? Picking up my life and moving across the country for seven months - who does that?!

For two weeks I checked my email every fifteen minutes waiting for news. Waiting for the decline email really, I just needed to know. I also really, really loved stalking anyone already in the program. (God bless social media!)

Last Saturday, I woke up to find the email in my inbox. I had been offered the position. You can ask my boyfriend, I literally screamed when I saw the subject line: CONGRATULATIONS! Talk about a Happy Easter to me.

And as excited as I am about this opportunity I am so afraid to leave my comfort zone. I am so afraid to miss everything going on in my life here, in North Carolina. I won't be there when my family moves. I won't be there for the weddings, I won't be there for new babies, and I am going to miss everyone so much. Can I really go without seeing my friends and family for seven months? But if I don't take it I know I will regret it for the rest of my life.

While I've told a few close people, I haven't made my official announcement yet. I'm sure I will be announcing my news to y'all soon because lets face it, when I move it's going to be hard NOT to share this new part of my life with my readers.

My question to you is have you ever made a big decision like this? Let me know!

Oh and don't forget to head over to my Instagram page for a $150 Nordstrom gift card loop giveaway! I've gotten together with a few NC bloggers and there hasn't been a ton of entries yet, so your odds are pretty good I'd say! It ends Tuesday night at 6PM.

Happy Monday y'all!

Pumped Up Kicks

I can already tell you these are going to be my new go-to shoes. I've never been a huge casual (non-athletic) sneaker person but lately I've been loving the white look. I was originally looking at a pair of Converses (which I literally haven't worn since maybe 6th grade) but I was sold on these the second I saw the eyelet lace! It's finally getting into the high 70's in NC so my spring skirts have been must. Oh and did I mention the pool is open? Bye-bye pasty legs.

The Hunt is On

It's officially the holiday weekend - I am currently spending some quality time with my family at the beach and will be headed to my hometown this weekend for all the festivities. I fell in love with this dress when I first saw it and bought it in both black and this lovely lime color (at $26 and an extra 30% off I wish the red was in stock to buy too!). I'm all about a good shift dress, and the ruffles give it such a fun pop!

What are your plans for this holiday weekend? Happy Easter y'all!

Wear to Work (Out!)

April Fools! I don't really work out. I've been wanting to do an athletic-inspired post for a while, because I am constantly finding myself wearing my gym clothes all the time. Thing is I rarely go to the gym - I'm always loving going on long walks with my mom, jetting off to yoga class, and doing some quick-high intensity workout. Some days though athletic wear makes me feel so much more put together on days when I'm running around campus and don't feel like putting real clothes on.

On days when I am super busy I love doing the "seven minute workout" - that app and the CARROT app are both fantastic (although I have to admit, I'm either offended or laughing at everything CARROT says). Blogilates on YouTube is also super fun and has great, healthy recipes! If you don't already have a fitness tracker I highly recommend getting one, it makes you so much more aware of your day to day activities. I've had both a Fitbit and a Jawbone so if you have any questions please let me know.

Another important thing to remember when working out is drinking more water. You can check out some of the benefits and my tips in this blog post from last June - and try the app Waterlogged if you have a hard time keeping yourself accountable for your daily intake goals.

I also realized my love for a fishtail braid recently - and it's super easy with this tutorial.
What types of exercise do you love to do? (and don't forget to hydrate!)
