Tote-ally Obsessed

If you peek inside my closet you might be surprised at how many bags I own, specifically totes. I literally use them for everything whether it be heading to class or packing for a last minute trip. Each tote has a specific purpose attached with it -  typically any canvas totes I love for running to the store or heading to the beach, my Longchamp I still believe was the best $135 I ever spent (so versatile!), and my printed C Wonder bag (or lookalike Jonathan Adler bags) makes for the perfect overnighter.
Right now I think my next tote will be a Barrington Gifts Savannah Zippered Tote - I've been a fan of the company for years. Do you have a tote you swear by? Let me know!

The Week Ahead

Last week was arguably one of the craziest weeks I've had in forever. Between four test, a floor set, and a cold I don't know where my mind went. This week though is going to be a fantastic week. I love little post like this because it not only gives my readers the chance to know me a little better, but I get to know y'all in turn through the comments!
  • I'll be hearing back about a very important internship opportunity (keep your fingers crossed for me!)
  • The only day I have regular classes will be Monday, both Tuesday and Wednesday are canceled in lieu of a leadership conference.
  • I can get back on my normal blogging schedule - has anyone tried the Heart & Arrow blog planner? Seriously considering ordering one tonight, I've had my eye on them for forever.
  • Ditching classes Thursday and heading to the beach late Wednesday night for a well needed mini-vacay #sorrynotsorry
  • I'll be headed home this Friday for my best friend's 21st birthday
  • Spending time with family and far away relatives Easter day? Well that's just the best. Hope you've picked out your Easter dress! I will be sharing mine later this week.
What do you have going on this week? Let me know!

Happy Friday! This week has just been one of those weeks - literally couldn't get to Friday fast enough. This time of year is always an awkward time because it goes from being super warm to cold really quickly, and it's always interesting to put together things for both types of weather. Last weekend I was SO excited to finally find  the perfect pair of booties (on super sale at Belk - retail $185 purchase price of $66? I can dig it) Not pictured? The chunky cardigan I threw on all afternoon for a study session.

Top (only $8!!) // Jeans (similar) // Booties // Handbag (similar)

(Oh, and seriously obsessed with these fabulous tassel earrings I won in Hill's giveaway)
Have a great weekend y'all!

Blogging Bloopers

Happy Friday! Sorry for being so MIA this past week, between sleeping in as much as possible and my normal photographer (aka my BFF) being in her respective hometown this past week things have been running a little slow. A lot of people (including myself at a time) think those perfect photos just happened naturally and they definitely don't. You have to take a solid fifty photos to get five good ones. You're constantly battling something - the wind, weather, lighting, oh and my favorite? Avoiding awkward glares by strangers. I thought today would be the perfect time to share some funny bloopers from past shoots

Most tend to include my hair, everywhere.
Let's not even bring up the wind.
Not quite sure what's going on with my hand.
Testing a backdrop is always super awkward.

Too far away / artsy? Who knows
Dance parties are always a given (insert salsa dancer emoji here)

My best accessory is a latte.

And so much sass (#given).

If you blog do you find yourself having the same types of bloopers? Let me know-
Oh and don't forget I would love to see your looks in next week's Spring Fling Link up! You can contact me or Seersucker Sass if you have any questions.
Have a great weekend y'all!

Friday, March 6, 2015

Finally! I seriously thought this week would never end, it's definitely been an interesting one that's for sure. Now off to a week of work/relaxing/catching up on Netflix.

  1. Getting so, so excited for the Spring Fling Link Up! If you're unfamiliar, Seersucker Sass and I will be hosting one for the 20th - would love to have you participate! (See her post here)
  2. Pretending it's spring by painting my nails this lovely shade. What's snow? #wishfulthinking
  3. Headed home later this week and planning another trip to the new Kendra Scott store (lusting after this and this) and a new yoga/pilates/barre studio that just opened by my house. PS have you tried barre? I want to but I'm super nervous at the same time.
  4. Obsessed with my new Kate Spade handbag, it's smaller than I imagined but the color is gorgeous.
  5. So Bath & Body Works Candles were 2 for $24 last week - currently  burning Love and Cinnamon Sugared Donut.
  6. Forgot how much I loved Maybelline's Line Stiletto Liquid Eye Liner, why did I ever stop using it?!? And such a bargain
  7. Finally took the Rocksbox plunge when I saw they now featured Kendra Scott - I can't wait to get my first box. (If you use them, how long did it take originally?)
  8. Can't stop wearing this tunic (featured in Wednesday's post) - I bought it in pink and a Carolina blue, but I'm seriously debating going back for the grey and navy. At $16.99 it's a steal!
  9. I'm pretty sure my favorite part of the Fifty Shades of Grey movie was the soundtrack (so much so that I picked it up on Amazon!) and it has been on repeat in my car. Am I the only one who still uses CDs?
  10. I downloaded this productivity app the other day and boy does it work. You basically set a timer for thirty minutes and plant a "tree" in that time period. If you leave the app (for example to check Instagram or reply to a text) your tree dies. Sounds crazy, but it makes me feel so much more responsible and productive when my lot is full of trees.
What's been on your radar lately? Let me know!

Pop of Pink

This week seems to be flying by it's been so busy, today is probably my busiest day but before you know it Friday will be here (aka the start of Spring Break!) Granted, I'm not going anywhere super fun and tropical but it will be nice to take a little break from school and catch up on my Netflix. I've been hearing a lot about House of Cards and Gilmore Girls, but if you have any recommendations please leave them in the comments below!

Top // Jeans (similar) // Scarf (similar) // Booties (similar) // Handbag

And this tunic is seriously so cozy - excuse me while I stock up in every color.
Happy hump day y'all!

Spring Fling Link Up

Two post in one day, this is definitely going to be a productive/busy week for me! This week we are FINALLY not expected to get any snow, in fact it's predicted to be a lovely 76 degrees here on Wednesday - and I couldn't be more excited.

That being said, (incase you missed it last Friday) I will be co-hoasting a link up with Seersucker Sass scheduled for March 20th in honor of the first day of Spring! The purpose of this linkup is for bloggers to connect through their favorite Spring-inspired outfit or an upcoming Spring trend. If you would like to participate the button is listed below, and we ask that you use the hashtag #springflinglinkup - can't wait to see what you all come up with!

Pick Your Beau

I would love for you to join us on March 20th! If you are interested in linking up or have any questions please email me at

Have a great monday y'all!

Five Items Every Young Woman Should Own

The older I get the more I can understand and justify buying high-quality, key pieces for my wardrobe. Am I super excited to spend $100+ on a dress? Debatable. A new handbag? Probably. The thing about these pieces is they are classics that I know I will be able to wear for years.
"Quality is remembered long after the price is forgotten"
-Aldo Gucci
That being said, I believe there are five items every young woman should have in her collection-
  • Monogrammed Necklace // I now own two, a gold script monogram (similar) and a larger silver block monogram (exact). If I'm not wearing one I'm wearing the other - there is something so timeless and personal about a monogram.
  • High Quality Handbag // Someone once put it very well as "a woman's handbag is like a man's watch" and I agree 100% with that statement. I would rather spend more on a bag I can carry for years than have to buy a new $40 handbag every two months - especially if you can get them pre-owned (just be cautious to if its authentic / in good condition) on sites like Poshmark or Rue La La. I'm especially a big fan of Kate Spade, and a Rebecca Minkoff bag is definitely on my list.
  • Satin Robe // Now this is something I don't think a lot of people would think of, so let me explain my reasoning. I never feel more like a woman than when I am walking around the house in my robe getting ready. Sounds crazy, I know, but there is something so feminine about it to me. I am a die-hard fan of the Victoria's Secret robes (and recently just picked up my third one! #obsessed)
  • Pearl Earrings // Again, timeless. I have a pair from a set I received when I graduated high school and I continue to wear them every day - they add a touch of sophistication to any outfit.
  • Watch // Just like my monogrammed necklaces I own two watches - one gold, one silver. My gold watch I bought when I was sixteen years old and it was the first "nice", investment-piece I had ever bought myself. I'm now twenty years old and have no plans on retiring it watch anytime soon.
Do you have any special items you think I could add to my list? Let me know!
Have a great weekend!
