Black Friday Essentials - For the Shopper

There is one test separating me from Thanksgiving Break this year. With traveling home to spend Thursday with my family (with a chance of snow, might I add!) and driving back that night to work Black Friday it's definitely going to be a crazy week for me.

Although I will be missing out on all the crazy shopping fun this year, I have found through the years the same things always turn into necessities when you're out bracing the crowds and making a mad dash finding parking spot.

  1. Plenty of Water // It is SO easy to get dehydrated while out shopping all day. Any typical day I do it to myself already but when shopping I tend to get so distracted it's the last thing on my mind. Make sure to pack bottles with you or be prepared to stand in line at the food court for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Comfy Shoes // I can't emphasize this enough. Every year I see women with heels and it makes no sense to me. Black Friday shopping isn't just your everyday trip to the store, you're going to have bags on top of your bags and the last thing you want to worry about is your feet.
  3. Game Plan for the night // Failing to plan is planning to fail. Do your research before going out and know exactly what you are going for when you hit those big stores (i.e. Target, Best Buy, etc). If you can come up with a list and a plan of attack it will be so much easier to pick up (and not forget) all your must haves!
  4. A Shopping Buddy // Although I typically love shopping alone, I would never recommend going by yourself on Black Friday. Once you're actually doing the shopping the whole experience is exciting, getting to that process can get very boring if you're by yourself waiting in line. Plus, she'll totally be able to talk you in/out of that fabulous impulse purchase that's too much of a good deal to pass up.
  5. Mobile Charger // Between posting photos of your Thanksgiving meal on Instagram and tweeting all about what you're #thankful for this Holiday weekend, odds are your phone is going to get very close to dying. One of these itty-bitty devices will be your saving grace while you're waiting in line playing candy crush.
Are you going out this Black Friday? Let me know!

Cozy in Coral

Happy Friday! It has been super cold here lately so when we had a halfway warmish day I shed my coat for a light, oversized sweater. I have a tendency to stick with darker colors (especially having to wear all black for work everyday) during the fall and winter time but recently a few post over at Lindsay's blog Sugar and Something has inspired me to incorporate more summer colors into my fall wardrobe. (Definitely take a look if you aren't familiar with her blog - it's one of my favorites) Although I haven't hit the neon level just yet, I had such a fun time lightening up my look with the coral sweater and my trusty gold flats!

This will probably end up being my Thanksgiving look next weekend - comfy, cozy, and perfectly oversized for when I have that (extra) piece of pumpkin pie!

Sweater (thrifted, similar) // PINK Leggings // Flats // Sunglasses
Venti Iced Coffee with two pumps of vanilla and soy

Larger Chain Bracelet (similar) // Smaller (similar) // Watch (discontinued, similar)

Scarf (discontinued Coach, this year's version)  // Necklace (discontinued, Baublebar)

What are your weekend plans? Let me know!

Lust List - Lululemon

I never understood the hype over Lululemon until a few months ago when I stepped into one while out shopping with my big. I only walked out with a headband that day, but boy did I want just about everything! Their Vinyasa Scarves (4) and a new mat (7) are definitely topping my Christmas list this year -

Have you ever been in a Lululemon before? Let me know!

Navy & Plaid

I bought this sweater last year early into the spring, and have been dying to wear it since! It's such a cozy navy knit - much, much warmer than it looks! The last of the leaves have started to fall in my neighborhood and I just want to soak up it all up before the cold really sets in.

Navy Cable Sweater (old, similar) // Plaid Shirt (borrowed from the boys, similar
PINK Leggings // Ralph Lauren Riding Boots (thrifted, similar)

Watch (Discontinued, similar) // Lily and Laura Bracelets (Boutique)

(first #redcup of the season!)

Have a great day y'all!

Friday Five

Can you believe its already Friday?! I feel like I blinked on Monday and here we are. To end the week off on a happy note I wanted to share with y'all some songs I have been loving lately -

(1) We'll Come Back Around (Craig Morgan) // I think this is definitely in my top three favorite songs of all time. It sums up being in a relationship so well and every time I hear it my heart just melts!

(2) Canaan Smith // I saw him open for Sugarland years ago and was so impressed by him then. We even got to meet him and he was the sweetest guy! Finally hearing him on the radio lately makes me so proud and I highly recommend you check out We Got Us and Love You Like That.

(3) Steal My Girl (One Direction) // Say whatever you want, you know you love this song. #hatersgonnahate

(4) Marilyn (Alexa Goddard) // I first heard this on the new playlist at work and I am obsessed!!

(5) Lonely Eyes (Chris Young)  // I've been a huge Chris Young fan for years - he never seems to disappoint!
What's song have you been listing to on repeat lately? Let me know!

PYB Turns One!

It blows my mind that a year ago today I wrote my very first blog post - today literally feels like my birthday. On this very special day I would just like to give a big THANK YOU to every person who has read my blog!! I've met some great people along the way and definitely learned so much through the process. Although today is just a day full of errands / work for me, I still couldn't help but celebrate with some gold balloons and a casual mini-shoot with my BFF.

Sweater (thrifted, similar) // Jeans // Murfee (discontinued print, similar)
Loafers // Purse (discontinued, similar) // Sunglasses

 Monogrammed Necklace (gift, similar)

Gold Chain (large, similar) // Silver Renegade // Gold Chain (small, discontinued Baublebar)
Lily and Laura (boutique) // Watch (old, similar)

The best is yet to come.

November Goals

Can you believe we are already in November?! Where has the year gone??

For me, November seems to always be the start of the Holiday season - especially if you've ever worked in retail this time of the year hits you really hard. It's also my favorite time of the year though. The weather I could totally do without (it snowed in parts of the state this past weekend!!), but there is definitely something to be said for the feeling of the holidays. Through all the hustle and bustle it seems to always hit home for me just how much I have to be thankful for in my life.

And did I mention PYB is turning 1 later this week?!

(1) Post at least once a week // Seriously, I was the worst blogger last month.

(2) Prepare for exams // Once exams starts life is literally going to turn upside down and I won't be able to tell you what goes where and who goes how. If I can preplan and schedule blog post / knock out any and all assignments for school beforehand that should eliminate a lot of stress out of my life.

(3) Set aside some money // There may or may not be a big trip possibly happening come January. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

(4) Get 75% of Christmas Shopping done // I am always thinking about what's next, and I've actually already done a little bit of shopping. There is a decent little corner of my closet devoted to Christmas presents - if I can get most of it done before December not only will I get the best gifts, but I won't have to stress over braving the mall crowds come week of.

(5) Devote myself back to yoga // Yoga is one of my favorite past times and really helps me to control my stress. It's definitely time to get back to that center y'all.

Is it weird that 3/5 goals deal with managing stress? (#youknowyou'restressedwhen) What are your goals for this month? Let me know!

Due to my budget lately I only picked up the Call to Action Georgie (which coincidentally I've been wanting the exact one for a while) but I've put together a few of my favorites from the sale-

Did you score anything from the sale? Let me know!
