Life is not fair. I will be one of the first ones to tell you that. I have seen amazing opportunities given to those who never worked for it and absolutely awful things happen to those who never deserved it.

In about two months it will be the one year anniversary of the passing of a dear friend of mine. She was three weeks shy of her 21st birthday when a truck hydroplaned and hit her head on. I was told that she died before they reached the hospital.

I am a firm believer in the idea that everything happens for a reason. At the funeral it was amazing to see how many lives my friend had touched over her short 20 years. Looking back its amazing to see how much I have changed since her passing. In the short time I knew her she made more of an impact on my life than I could have ever imagined.

She was always happy. Thats the only word I think I could ever use to describe her. Happy, happy, happy. About basically everything. I can't remember ever seeing her in a bad mood (Seriously never saw a frown on her face!). She always took great joy in the simplest of pleasures, and always saw the best in the smallest of things.

She taught me how to find happiness in every situation.

Today starts the #100DaysofHappiness challenge for me, and would absolutely love for y'all to join me on it. It's very simple: write down something that made you happy that day. It will be on twitter daily and at the end I will post my whole list here.

Life is too short, make sure to enjoy it!

Always, kTm
