My 10 Must Have Beauty Products

Seriously could not live without all of these products! Go check them out and let me know what you think:

1.) Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation - As a person with super oily skin it is so hard for me to find a good foundation that will stay in place all day and not slide right off. This stuff does the trick. I have tried high end foundations before but this drugstore one works better than any others I've used. I wear the shade 820. Plus: it has SPF 20 it in!

2.) Vaseline Rosey Lips Lip Therapy - I swear I searched for at least a month trying to find this stuff; it was flying off the shelves! And for a good reason. It is the best thing on my super chapped lips especially with the mixing of the seasons. Plus: it taste amazing.

3.) Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Back to the oily skin. Last summer I had the worst problem where my eyeshadow would ALWAYS cake up into my crease even though I always used the e.l.f eyeshadow primer (dupes don't always work so well). This stuff is the best thing since sliced bread. It is literally magic in a bottle. Pricy, but I'm maybe halfway done with my tube and I've had it for like 9 months so it last and last!

4.) Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel - I received a sample of this from Sephora a while back when I bought my Clarisonic Mia 2 (see intro post here) and of course fell in love with it. When I ran out and looked at the price tag, I decided to try something a little more in my price range. About a month ago I went ahead and decided to splurge and haven't looked back. This stuff feels fantastic on my skin, is quick to absorb, and actually helps to smoothen out my skin and make it silky to the touch.

5.) Pantene Ultimate BB Creme - When this first came out I was like what? A BB cream for your hair? How is that supposed to work? Well it is a ten in one product and as weird as it sounds - its amazing. Perfect all in one product!

6.) Maybelline Clean Express Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover - I typically start removing my makeup with simple baby wipes I just pick up at target and then turn towards this stuff- its fantastic. I originally heard about it from Sarahbelle93x on Youtube and it is great!!  It can take off that long lasting mascara and eyeliner easily as well as get deep down to remove any left over foundation at the end of the day.

7.) Maybelline Rocket Volume Mascara - I have always been a big fan of Covergirl's Lash Blast Mascara until Miss Glamourazzi on Youtube raved about this one and I decided to finally try it out. It does wonders volume wise but isn't completely impossible to remove at the end of the day like the Covergirl one was for me. It holds your lashes all day long and really makes them look full and long! Perfect mascara at a great price!

8.) Mederma Scar Cream - Last fall I started using this after having to get stitches on my lip (long story). At first the scar was absolutely awful (its like a T shape), and it drove me crazy even looking in the mirror each day. The doctor recommended that I start using this and I am so glad I tried it out. It has done wonders as far as helping to heal the scar and make it less visible. And although its not totally a beauty product, I use it twice a day before applying my makeup and adore it. If you have any issues with scarring (including acne scaring from what I'm told) I would definitely recommend trying this product!

9.) Big Sexy Hair Root Pump Plus - Whenever I am going for big, voluptuous hair I turn towards this root spray. It really pumps up my hair and preps it perfectly for big curls. PS you can typically pick it up at TJ Maxx or Marshalls for about half the retail price!

10.) Bed Head Masterpiece Hair Spray - I have been using this product for years and love it! Holds a curl perfectly without making my hair get hard and feel gross. You can also pick this up at TJ Maxx or Marshalls for cheaper as well!

Friday Five 3/21/2014

What a busy, busy week! I am so happy to have a little bit of downtime this weekend to relax and just sleep. Goodness knows I need it. In between classes (and sometimes in shhh) it seem that I am always on Pinterest. All that Pinterest time = lots of things on my wish list.

Here are a few things that have caught my eye this past week -

What have y'all been loving this past week? Let me know!

It is no secret that I am obsessed with my Jack Rogers. Whether it is spring, summer, or fall I tend to wear them 24/7.  You can dress them up, dress them down, and once you finally break them in they are so comfy!! Starting at $110, they are definitely a splurge for any college student but so, so worth it. (You can also find them cheaper on Rue La La, 6PM, and Gilt, but they go quick!)

Recently Jack Rogers has started a new social media campaign called #lovemyjacks and it is so cute to see how people style them!

I currently have the Hamptons pair in the gold color, and I definitely want to add to my collection possibly this summer! Here are a few of my favorites I have been lusting after lately.

Which ones are your favorite? Let me know!

Life is not fair. I will be one of the first ones to tell you that. I have seen amazing opportunities given to those who never worked for it and absolutely awful things happen to those who never deserved it.

In about two months it will be the one year anniversary of the passing of a dear friend of mine. She was three weeks shy of her 21st birthday when a truck hydroplaned and hit her head on. I was told that she died before they reached the hospital.

I am a firm believer in the idea that everything happens for a reason. At the funeral it was amazing to see how many lives my friend had touched over her short 20 years. Looking back its amazing to see how much I have changed since her passing. In the short time I knew her she made more of an impact on my life than I could have ever imagined.

She was always happy. Thats the only word I think I could ever use to describe her. Happy, happy, happy. About basically everything. I can't remember ever seeing her in a bad mood (Seriously never saw a frown on her face!). She always took great joy in the simplest of pleasures, and always saw the best in the smallest of things.

She taught me how to find happiness in every situation.

Today starts the #100DaysofHappiness challenge for me, and would absolutely love for y'all to join me on it. It's very simple: write down something that made you happy that day. It will be on twitter daily and at the end I will post my whole list here.

Life is too short, make sure to enjoy it!

Snack Time: healthy snacks at home & on the go

With bikini season coming up it seems that everyone and their mother is trying to slim down and get fit. And although I am all for exercise (I LOVE yoga, see my recent post here), getting fit and more importantly getting HEALTHY I believe all starts in the kitchen. After all, you are what you eat right?

Snack time tends to be the easiest time to cheat on a healthy diet, but also the easiest to prepare for! Here are a few of my favorite healthy picks:

  1. Kashi Blackberry Cereal Bars - So yummy and perfect for running out the door and going to yoga class in the morning.
  2. Special K Cracker Chips - I am a sucker for the BBQ ones, but I have had the sour cream and onion ones as well and they were pretty good too! I will buy these on campus all the time because they taste just like normal potato chips but actually fill you up. Bonus: one bag is 110 calories!
  3. Pumpkin Seeds - Seeds are not just for the birds y'all! I will sit there watching tv and end up eating the whole cup. Also a good alternative for popcorn when I want something lighter.
  4. Beef Jerky - Doesn't sound super healthy does it? Believe it or not, two pieces of beef jerky are only about 100 calories and are packed full of protein! (meaning you will stay fuller longer)
  5. Special K Dark Chocolate Protein Shakes - YUM
  6. Water, water, water! - Drinking water is great for you. Common sense. But did you know that drinking water also curbs hunger cravings?
  7. Stonyfield Organic Banilla Yogurt - This stuff taste just like banana pudding, its so yummy!
  8. Extra Crunchy Peanut Butter - I put this on EVERYTHING.
  9. Pretzle M&Ms - These are my favorite go to's when I need to cheat a little. Out of all the candies out there, they are actually not half bad for you!
  10. String Cheese / Mini Babybel Cheese - Who doesn't love cheese? I especially like to eat these with grapes.

Have y'all tried any of these? If you have any recommendations please let me know in the comments below!
